What is humility
Humility According to the dictionary is the quality of having a modest or low view of one\"s importance. A freedom from pride or arrogance; the quality or state of being humble.
Humility According to the Bible is said to be a fit recipient of grace (James 4:6). Also, humility can be said to be a criteria o obtain mercy, elevation and favour (proverbs 3:34).
The word humility as defined both by the dictionary and the Bible is a major thing a Christian ought to have as a character. To be humble, we must have *FAITH* that God will lead us in the best way to live and what to avoid in temptation, we are to put complete trust in the Lord and not to decieve ourselves with vanity and lust.
Proverbs 22:4. This passage enlightens us the more about what benefit we can get from humility in such a way that it directly explains that humility is the fear of the Lord. We see here that humility does not only entail doing God\"s will but fearing the consequences of neglecting the Lord.
Let\"s make reference to a very big example which is our Lord Jesus Christ (phillipians 2:3-11) I know this story isn\"t strange to the Bible students. It said "Jesus dropped his position, power, and empited himself to be like a servant but now we as a human when someone pushes us to the wall we get angry and forget that the spirit of humility ought to be our watchward then we say "DO YOU KNOW WHO I AM"? As a Christian, an iota of pride ought not to be found in us. Did you find pride in your own Jesus?
John Newton said and I quote "LOVE AND HUMILITY ARE THE GREATEST ATTAINMENT IN THE SCHOOL OF CHRIST"  Brethren if there\"s a so called Christian without those two things I\"m sorry to say you\"re a joker!!!! It got to a time I got to notice that it doesn\"t take a true Christian to use the word Sir/Ma for anybody irrespective of their age.. do you know why? HUMILITY.  
As Christian we have to see everyone as equal before the most high. The Lord shall have upon us in Jesus name
Definitely there\"s nothing about Christ without a benefit no matter how little. 
Let\"s look at the benefits of humility or the benefit of being humble
1). UPLIFTMENT (1Pet5:6)
2). An eternal inheritance (Matthew 5:5)
3). A lasting day reign with Christ (2tim2:12).
As we\"ve been discussing since now the opposite of Humility is PRIDE!!!!
As they say pride goes before a fall and the Bible made us to know that the eyes of the Lord is bitter to the proud ones. So brethren I\"ll be appealing to each and everyone of us to check our lives if there\"s any form of pride in our lives because the smallest molecule of pride can destroy.
I pray we won\"t be destroyed in Jesus name. Amen
